Happy New Year! AGAIN!!

Okay, so last year was a total bust for writing. I do apologize to my great fans (if I have any left?) about that. Last year was a mixture of lukewarms, lows, scaries, and general stress production. Hopefully this year will be better.

I can't guarantee any regular schedule of creative output. Work and life in general are a bit unpredictable and demanding. What I HAVE been doing the past year is spending a lot of time meditating and researching on ideas and concepts for this and future stories. If I ever had mounds of notes before, I've got mountains now.

My plans for this year are to put out at least one more chapter for the current storyline. That was my hope last year, as a way of stemming off the suspense/plot so I could turn my focus to a more serious endevour (like a real novel). That didn't happen last year, but it's a goal for this year, and soon. I already have 1/3rd of the chapter written.

In the real-world, I've got some serious goals, too. I need to focus on my health this year, both bodily and mentally. To that end I'm determined to focus more on my real-world hobbies that get me out of my computer dungeon and into the sunlight.

I bought a new DSLR camera and I'm learning to use it.
I'm trying to take my guitar playing to a more refined level (ie - learning to play with other people).
Staying involved in my car club.
Actually using the telescope I got last year.
Visiting more of the local attractions in my area that I've been neglecting for years.

To that end, part of this site is going to channel/showcase my efforts there. Furlisophical was never intended to be a site just for ThorHammer, but I never got around to doing much else with it.

Well, I need to get back to work, so Happy New Year all! Stay safe, be happy, have a cookie!

Hey, look, I did some work today! lol

Okay, after having long-intended to do this, I have finally upgraded the forum from phpbb2 to phpbb3.

I have not undertaken the long and laborious process of re-doing the style, so unfortunately it looks like the stock phpbb3 style.

Anyway, the board has a lot more features, especially in the admin area (for spammer fighting) and is hopefully more secure.

All accounts, posts, and topics, should have been converted over, and they all appear to be working correctly, but to be honest I didn't do much in the way of testing besides a few clicks. I've redirected all the links on the site to now point towards the new forum.

Let me know if any of you have any problems using the board. You can reach me at iansmail2008 at comcast dot (om.

::P

Enjoy

OMGSPAM!!!

Okay, so the forum has apparently been blasted ONCE AGAIN by loads of lowlifes. I believe I've cleaned out all the moronic posts, and the loads of individuals who we should be using for medical research...

</vent>

Everyone likes a little yiff, but not like that!

Cinnamon Presents

In other news, while cleaning out the forum trash I was looking at the members who were legit. I came across one that had a forum listed for the website: FurMorphed

Well, shame on me for not knowing about this. Looks like a pretty extensive forum, lol

I deserve even further shame for not knowing about this: THORHAMMER

Wow. Thanks!

Guess I need to spend less time with my WoW guild and more time with the electrostylus! lol

I'll see what I can do about that! :P

Hey folks, just checking in.

Been a while. I'm making slow progress on the next chapter. I've begun flushing the outline out into actual text, but it's slow. There's been a lot of developments since last I talked.

I'm under a lot of stress at work because of some new projects starting up, and also the fact that the company I work for is getting bought by another. I've still got my job, no worries, but it's a big change that requires a focussed touch. :)

In other news, on April 11, my dog passed away at 11 years old. It was unexpected, but peaceful, and yet has still shaken the family and myself personally. He was, for all intents and purposes, my brother and my best friend. I will miss him sorely. His passing has put a momentary stop to a lot of things in my free time, mostly because I've been pretty uninterested in those activities with such a weight on my mind. I'm alright, though.

The bad news, at least for ThorHammer's sake, is that when the event happened, I was currently writing for ThorHammer. I'm getting over it, but lately every time I open up the chapter to do some work, it brings back memories of that day and I have to put it away.

Well, I seem to put out a chapter once a year now...so maybe I'll still hit that mark! lol

I just came back last night from a business trip to Florida. I'm pretty sick now, probably caused by dehydration and the dry air on the planes. I feel like my head has gained several pounds in snot. (Savor that image for a moment...)

Take care, all. Be sure to tell those you love, that you do, and chill out for a while.

PS - Lately I've been wasting a lot of my free time playing WoW, when not interested in doing something else. If you play, and are on the Shandris server, look me up! Two of my main characters are "Ruprecht" and "Schneeball."

Wow, long time no Furlisophical! lol

Well, I'm back online now. :P

So what have I been up to? Heh, what HAVEN'T I been up to. Lots of work type work. That's the problem when you move up in the office. :)

I'm also in the process of handling a lot of real-life projects around my home and car. And I've been all over the flip'n country in the past few months! Hawaii, Miami, Chicago...

So what have I done with ThorHammer? Well, I have a plot now for the next chapter, and I have the first scene written. It's not much, but it is progress.

I've also been tinkering with the idea of writing a short using the characters from Foxonian and Andre Cotton (the characters that make up Cassie's Band). I actually wrote a plot and a few scenes late on Christmas Eve. It might actually spark me to flush it out in writting and see if any of those folks like it.

Not much else going on. Forum is still up and running. I may also still get a deviantART site to throw up my artwork, rather than trying to manage it on this site (I just don't have time to mess with all that when there's technologies out there already).

Enjoy!

Just saying hi. Slowly chugging away at stuff. Lots of things get in my way, though. Like work, car troubles...stretching puppies...
